| | I have, for the first time, recently seen "A Woman is a Woman", "Band of Outsiders", "Contempt", and "Alphaville." And "My Life to Live" is currently in the mail.
I have to agree wholeheartedly on your assessment of both Godard and Karina... true cinematic brilliance.
One last thought on Anna, I have always heard critics say that a meaningful look can sometimes mean more than ten lines of dialogue, but I have never witnessed this in movies. Or, if I have, it didn't stick with me after the film was over. Anna has to have the most expressive eyes I have ever seen on a human being... I finally see what the critics are on about. |
