| ||Damn fine review, that! The bit about the mate's car in 1997...so fucking true. And I was in India back then...people would stop and stare as we went past, with all 12 minutes of The Private Pyscadelic Reel rolling by...
Somewhere between surrender and this album though, they seemed to lose the plot there for a bit. I wasn't going to pick this one up, but I guess I just changed my mind. *g*
| ||Damn good review...but "The Boxer" musically is a great track! Surprised you didn't think the same. Yeah, vocally its a bit much, especially the beginning part. But it's almost like the track has a definitely accessible feel to it. Not a good Chemical Brothers song probably, but a good song by itself. I'll be checking this album out, thanks!|
| ||Indeed, fine review. Especially the closing paragraph. On the rare occasion dancing is death-affirming, it's still an affirmation rather than a negation. Still need to sort PtB beyond 1st hearing, but it made an impression. I'd gamble that ...So Addictive was inarguably the best dance album of '01 that also scored commercially. Throw Surrender on the 'pod. It's not an A, but it's got some goodies.|
