| ||I think you've partly crystallised my slight sense of disappointment with this album, but I don't know I'd call it the curse of excellence. If it was that good, wouldn't we both be in rapture with it, and you'd be giving it a higher mark?
The Pernice blueprint has been laid out on many a previous album, and this one doesn't deviate much. That's fine by me, his voice still catches you a little, the melodies and sounds flow perfectly, but there's only a couple of tracks here that give me the same shiver as the first hearings of many tracks on previous albums.
Still, the next best of Joe Pernice compilation when it comes out will be something every JP novice should buy.|
