Can't help thinking you missed the point on this one. Jacket Full of Danger may well be Adam Green's masterpiece. Time will tell.

In all earnestness, will you share your take? I'm curious. It's always weird when an artist I really like puts out an album that leaves me cold.

I'll try. It's not east to listen to but after a couple of listens I find it utterly compelling. I think Adam Green is possibly evil. The nasty cheesy arrangements, strings & lyrics seem like an attempt to put the listener off and challenge all expectations yet it congeals (?) into a solid and fascinating experience. He almost sabotages his songs. Who else would be brave enough? I feel dirty after listening to it. A unique performer and a great record.

I totally agree with the self-sabotoge characterization and the "dirty" feeling, I just think he hit it with a lot more humor and disgust on the last record. Fair enough, though.
